Default will wc reimburse for bills paid on temp disability?

Hi, I had my qme exam in july, and qme wants more info before stating whether my injury is work related(at least according to him) or not. I go back to see him in Nov. In the meantime, I am spending hundreds of $ on medical bills (the part my insurance doesn't cover). If the qme does state that my injury is work-related will wc reimburse me this money. Thanks for any info.

Take care, Diana

if its work related yes they are liable for the bills, wasnt it set up as WC when you first saw the doc?

or at least how the law is in Illinois, I doubt other states are different, I know a few years ago they tried passing a cap on WC claims, not sure if it got passed or not

While my wc claim was denied and in appeal - my PT & MRI bills were placed on hold until the case was decided.

My atty sent a letter advising the billing parties of the claim status and that's how it came about.

So you might check into that option.
I think this only works if you declared it as a wc claim injury when you went for treatments vs if you used pvt med ins for treatment...
it's been a few years so not sure how it works now.

I hope you have a file organized for everything you have paid out so far, the hardest thing is keeping track of it all - {for me anyway}

I thought the atty was getting copies of all bills , i was sure he said something to that effect...
turned out they asked me to gather up all my bills for them, and I wasn't organized at all...

his office /staff was not very organized either and in the end I don't think he was the best choice, I should have looked at more options before signing with him.

Thanks for the info. I didn't mind so much with the basic co-pays. But now it's paying portions of epidurals, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, etc. And it's adding up.

I have been saving copies of all the statements, but still concerned they'll drag it out forever like everything else wc related, if they pay at all.

Hope everyone is having a good evening, Diana

HI,
I have a couple of questions. 1. Is this a WC accident? 2. Have you been talking to your MCO about your bills. Your MCO is the one that will pay your bills. If your insurance co. finds out that your injuries are WC related, They will make you responsible for All current and past bills.
You can check all your records and what has and is being done with your claim online {edit}.

I have also found out that if you are treating an injury that is not added to your claim, WC will not pay for any treatments and meds you have gotten.
I have been diagnosed with a disease that was found on October 15, 2008. It has not been added to my claim as of today. My Dr wants to do PT,trigger point injections, and even put me on meds that will help with my pain. MCO will NOT pay for any of this until my disease is added to my claim. If it never is added to my calim, I am responsible for any thing that is done to me including the meds as well. It's sad that we have to put up with a lot of pain till our problems are added. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope you find some peace with all your pain.
