Default WC has not reimbursed me $850.00 worth of mileage for PT or PM Dr. Visits

Hello All,

I was wondering, have any of you dealt with a WC ins. comp. that refuses/ignors to pay for mileage to and from the PM doc that WC chose for you, or pay the mileage for an out of state water pt? WC is $850.00 behind in my travel pay for the treatments that WC pre-approved.

My atty. has told me several times that he has sent a letter requesting this reimbursement...yet, no $$$ seen yet. We have a court date hearing to argue for my TTD to have begun 1/5/09, in April. Maybe the travel $$$ can be discussed at that time, too.

I appreciate your feedback.

Dew

Hi Dew,

I've got 5 years worth of unreimbursed stuff I've given up on getting payment for. (tens unit, cerv traction unit, meds, splints, etc)

I never even thought to add gas money for doc visits. My parents (75 and 76) get me to my appointments for treatments, even though they ar3 70 miles from me.

After not getting reimbursed for a cab ride to an IME exam for WC ($40 each way), my lawyer's only advice was to make WC arrange the transportation for those.....which they have done since. I wonder if they could be made to provide all transportation ?

I have always been reimbursed for mileage from WC, until this go-round with the PM doc, that WC sends me too, in OKC. I am suppose to get mileage if the total mileage is more then 20 miles.

Did you buy your own TEN's Unit? WC purchased mine, and I rec. reg. electrodes, batteries, etc., every 3 months.

I didn't think that you were allowed to purchase your own equip., when you are involved in a WC case.

I am so sorry that you have not been reimbursed for all the items that you mentioned. Hopefully, you will be soon. Talk to your atty., ask him to explain WHY you have not been reimbursed.

Thank you for your feedback
Dew

I am not sure about Oklahoma's WC laws.... Sounds like they are just stalling. Especially since you have been reimbursed before. Also, I would ask your lawyer if he could bring it up in your court date... maybe its not the time for that concern though It makes sense to me, but who knows!?
Another thing is you may want to address your question to this great forum for WC questions divided into threads by state http://www.workerscompensationinsura...play.php?f=685
I use this a lot and get quick responses from people Best of Luck!!!

I might suggest that your attendance at any further exams, treatment, etc. be dependent on the reimbursement. I might ask the attorney if you have the right to refuse to attend more mandated sessions on the grounds that you do not have sufficient funds for travel. I know as an adjuster, there were times I was actually required to pre-pay mileage! I find this non-payment you are suffering to be deplorable!
