This drug is not sustained release, and therefore may be broken or crushed. However, it won't taste very good.
Cimetidine comes in a liquid form and you can ask your doctor to prescribe it that way, and it might be easier for you to take. Here is more consumer information: http://www.drugs.com/cons/apo-cimetidine.html There is no warning not to break or crush. Some of the other drugs in this class come in easier dosage forms, like famotidine. Cimetidine has never had a chewable, and I suspect that there is a reason for this, such as bad taste, or something else. So the bottom line is to ask for the liquid formulation, just to be safe.

That is something you will have to decide for yourself.
Double check with your doctor and local pharmacist. Since there is no warning on crush/break, that suggests it is okay. But I am not in a position here to tell you to do so. Some drugs burn mucus membranes and are irritating. That might be the case here, since no chewable exists for this drug.

perhaps filling the script with smaller tabs (lower dose) and taking a multiple would work?
