I have severe rls. I been on mirapex for about a year. I take 1 mg at bedtime and really has helped the issue with my legs, but when I get up in the morning my eyes are swollen and I am not alert at all for sometime. It usually takes me to about lunchtime to actually feel like I am awake. I would like to get off of this medication and go back to taking requip. How do I do this ?

However, I would think a taper off would be a good idea first. Drugs that affect neurotransmitters are hard to discontinue or change. Some patients have a "withdrawal syndrome" with them. Other less so. If you type into Google "Mirapex withdrawal symptoms" you will find some anecdotal sites. You should ask your doctor....perhaps he would know. But not all of them really understand the drugs they give ![]()
