Just a thought re Lyrica and tooth decay. Before starting Lyrica i had a dodgy tooth that was filled but still sensative indicating a root canal may by in order some time soon.

Being on lyrica for seven months I upped the dosage to 300mg to totally eliminate any pain It did a pretty good job but side effects were horrible at those levels

Long story short.. decided to titrate down to zero to find the where the breakthrough pain was. Got down to 100mg and BOOM chronic tooth pain in wild spasms. Aghhhh I thought lyrica is destroying my teeth! then it occurred to me that Lyrica suppresses nerve pain and. tooth pain is nerve related so I upped my dosage and tooth pain gone

My point being Lyrica may not destroy teeth directly but indirectly since its a nerve block an unnoticed cavity/cavity's could go undetected until to late in l/term users

I'm at 50mg of Lyrica 3 times a day. I'm hoping to cut that dose in half over the course of the next few months to see if I can get away from the dizzy, spaced out side effects. Hopefully I can find a good balance with pain relief and minimal side effects. I have an appt. this week so I won't be titrating down on my own.

Anybody else see reduced side effects with a reduced dosage? Or are the side effects here to stay as long as I'm on Lyrica?

I've been on lyrica for a few years for diabetic neuropathy. It seemed to reduce the burning feet at night bt was unstable on my feet, dizzy and most recenty, my eyesight starting failing. I showed my doctors the FDA report regarding Pfiser not reporting side effects as they should have been. My neurologist told me to drop down to 150 mg from the 600 I have been taking. After two weeks at 150 to discontinue it all together. I'm in my second day of only 150 per day and I can't get to sleep -- even with aventin. My main worry is whether or not my eyesight will rebound. Anyone know how long it tkes to be able to sleep and havethe eyes return to normal??

I was only on lyrica for 2 weeks one week increasing 2ne getting off it.. my eyesight has almost back to normal I have been on mirapex at the same time so not sure if the left over sight problem is from the lyrica or the mirapex but vision is getting clearer as I am getting off the mirapex.

After using Lyrica, for two weeks, I suddenly had the urge to drive my car off bridges or into large dump trucks; I have never had any suicidal tendencies, and I took myself off the medication, and I didn't drive for one week. I haven't had these ideations since taking the drug.

Secondly, I had severe swelling of the lower extremities, hands, as well as face.

Horrible Reaction.

I warn everyone before they try it for fibromyalgia that they may experience peculiar symtoms.

I'm probably not the best one to post anything, because it works for me with very little in the way of side effects. I'm taking 300 mg. 2 times a day for PN and it keeps the uncontrollable leg jumping and other horrible sensation to a minimum where I'm able to sleep at night without waking up to my feet contorting into unnatural positions. I am sorry to hear it's having such a bad effect on so many people. Keep me posted. I'll be looking for your threads. Best of luck to all of us.

Fibroqueen, I found it interesting to read your comments on Lyrica in relation to your driving. My Mom was on Lyrica for a short duration and while she was unaware of any driving related affect of the medication on her, I took note of the fact that my Mom (78 years of age), normally a very cautious driver, had taken on an aggressive driving manner that I had never before seen in her. The last day of her use of Lyrica was when she had two driving related incidents in a span of about ten minutes...fortunately no one was hurt, but the way the medication caused her to take risks while driving in a manner that was entirely uncharacteristic of her was frightening to observe. Prior to that day I had mentioned to her on a number of occasions that she was using the gas pedal when use of the brake would have been the appropriate action. She didn't believe me, at least, not until the day of the two driving "incidents". The cost of the repairs to the car were fairly significant due to the high deductible on the car insurance plan.

lyrica does not work for me. it definitely gave me a dark cloud, depressed feeling.

if i could curse i would for this drug, cuz this drug relaly makes me want to curse. for all the good it did me, i became knee deep in some sort of strange manic reality. where everything was 3 shades brighter, but oh no....oh ohhh no. when you go off it, it's like you're in some sort of strange nightmare in which youre body feels like it's going to die.

i really really wish, i could get in on this lawsuit about lyrica. cause it is pretty much a deadly drug, and hard as hell to get off of, for people who have taken it for awhile.

sooo, in conclusion, will there be like one of those advertisements on TV saying if you were stabbed by this drug? then please call 1800556 for financial compensation.

I've been on Lyrica for 6 weeks. Started at 50 mg. 3 times a day and now upped it to 50 mg. in a.m., 75 mid day and 75 mg at might for total of 200 mg a day. After 6 weeks I'm still having side effects....feeling loopy, hard time forming sentences, slurring words, and short term memory loss. It does help my pain alot. But, seems to need to be increased every few weeks. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay on it. I couldnt tolerate Gabapentin, so next stop is to try Cymbalta.
