Has anyone had any luck with neurotin helping with nerves burning? I am currenlty on 400mg three times a day and it helps some but I still have the burning pain. Is there a medication out there that will get rid of it completely? My insurance won't pay for Lyrica although my doctor did give me samples...it works about as much as the neurotin does.
Thanks in advance for replies |

Hi Skully ~ I couldn't handle the side effects, i.e. feeling loopy, water retention, gaining weight. So I did some research, and asked my doc if he'd put me on TOPAMAX and he said sure, cause it's the same type drug as Neurontin. So I'm on 400mg. of TOPAMAX. I have NO side effects from it and in fact I LOST 10 lbs. There is no water retention, no feeling loopy, no nothing. Now, I'm not saying that some people couldn't have side effects, but I have none. To me that's pretty good! And it works TWICE as good as Neurontin!!
You might ask your doc about it. It sure works better. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
