Confused Lyrica Side Effects

I was hoping I could get some help with this question here.

Do the side effects of Lyrica eventually go away when you stop taking it?
I called and talked to Pfizer but they were really no help at all.

I have one-sided muscle weakness, burning pain in my face and feet, memory loss, confusion, difficulty talking and finding the right words and also some balance issues.

How long did you take Lyrica and at what dosage?...

I have been on Lyrica for 14 months 1 75mg in am and 2 in the pm. In the last couple of months I have started to notice balance issues, light headiness, feelings of being spaced out and more recently what seems like numbness on right side of face and neck along with fatigue. About 2 weeks ago dropped dosage down to 1 75mg in am and pm and not much change other than nerve pain from spinal stenosis and bulging disc more noticable.

Default Keep up on your DENTAL checkups!

While on this med!! I haven't looked up the status of an alleged Phizer 'lawsuit' regarding this med, but there is supposedly one going on.
Several here at NT had claimed rapid tooth decay while on Lyrica.
I was one of them.
Just wondered if any of you have noticed any change in your dental.

Yes, I had been taking other meds which do cause dry mouth and any med that causes dry mouth can ultimately make our teeth more prone to decay.
But I had been taking those other meds for a substantial amount of time and everything was ok.
During my 8 month (nightmare) on Lyrica is when the rapid tooth decay came on and I've had to have teeth pulled because they were beyond saving.
Thankfully I was able to catch one in time and salvaged it with simple filling.

Lyrica IMO is a drug that came straight from the pit of HE**

I hope you are having better luck with it.
Just make sure your dental is current and checked often.

Me too! It was absolutely BAD. Some people it works for, but for me.....
Now I know what the term 'rapid weight gain' means, and believe me, it wasn't from eating! I swelled up like a hotair balloon, couldn't bend over to tie my shoes, short of breath......scary.
I'm finally back down to normal weight (almost). It's a scary thing to watch yourself literally gain weight rapidly (as in 10 pounds a WEEK) !!

I hope you are feeling back to normal by now

I was on Lyrica for 4 days.

It made the doors in my house seem to swing open a little and close a little.

I felt it seemed to be working.

But, on the 4th day when I used the rest room. I had rectal bleeding. Not just a little, but enough to scare a zombie.

I went to the ER and was directed to stop the drug ASAP.

I didn't have any issues once I stopped taking it.

I wont ever take it again.

local neuro kept saying "it takes a week to get your brain used to lyrica"...I kept saying but my feet look like canned hams with pegs in one end and I cant see to get through my home. Sooo... called my PcP and got right in. took a week of being off of it to get my vision anywhere near normal and as of right now I still have problems as I see a normal computer screen as I am writing this but also have on cocked at an angle.

Most of these medications say that if you experience confusion, balance issues, etc. that you should speak to your doctor asap. You also have face burning issues, and that COULD be the beginning of a serious allergic issue. So please call your doctor to be safe. God bless. Peace, Lee

I took 75mg + 25mg a day for 2 weeks then got bad side effects in my lower legs swelling burning pain which lasted for 7 weeks after I stop taking any more pills. So for me it took a full 7 weeks before it was out of my system and free from any side effects.
