I don't trust big pharma........and since being dx with MS I really don't trust them. They're in it for one thing and one thing only.........PROFIT.

i am with you on this, but playing devil's advocate here.....you cant take all the negative results and add them together as if they all occurred in different patients, UNLESS it specifically states that is so....

Very interesting article Mrs. D. Thank you for posting it.
PCP put me on statins 2 years ago and within 2 months my thighs were swollen and I had very painful nerve pain. She didn't seem too concerned. My Neuro had never seen this with MS. We decided that I should call my retired Cardiologist to see what he thought. He knew it was the statins immediately and told me not to ever take them again. He said there was nothing that could be done and I might have permanent muscle damage and nerve pain. Two years later, no improvement and appears that damage is permanent. I have such swelling that my nerves on the outer side of my knees are affected and so painful. I'm on Neurontin for the pain. The younger doctors don't seem to know a thing about the side effect of statins. The drug companies state that these are rare side effects but I know several people that have had the same reaction I had but they have recovered. Probably because they don't have a compromised immune system. I'm on time released Niacin trying to control my cholesterol. So far it helps with Trig and good cholesterol. The bad is still high.
