Default Opana ER

I'm taking opana er 20 mg twice a day for pain along with other pain meds. Just wanted to know how well it is working for others. If 2 times a day is enough or 3 times works better.

My Doctor gave me OPANA ER for my pain right after I told him I wanted off the Viccodan due to addiction problems I have had in the past! I took it ONCE!! Made me very sick. Then I thought, Let me goolge this OPANA Er, Found out what it was & had a fit! Why dont Docs LISTEN???
I was sick to my stomach for two days , got hives & swelling in the face!
Take it he is a WORKMANS COMP Doc, He should listen to ME!
No the less, I have to see him in two weeks & he will be fired!

Hi ~ Opana 20mg is not TOUCHING the pain for me. It doesn't matter how o ften I take it. I may as well be taking aspirin. My doce switched me from Methadone because it was making me too sleepy. He's going to have to do something else when I see him again on monday cause i cannot tolerate the pain. i haven't slept in 2 days and i doubt i will over the weekend.

i hope you get better results than i'm getting. best of luck. hugs, lee

Hello Everyone:

My PM doc increased my opana er to 40mg twice a day a few months back. Now I have migraines day and night.

I have not seen any improvement in pain re leaf what so ever. I was at my pm doc office 2 days ago and told him about how I was not getting any better results pain wise and now have very bad migraines. I was told to take Advil for my migraines.

I feel like I gave the opana er a fair chance and I need something new so I get some pain relief. The doc wants to leave all my meds the the same and do blocks. I have tried several blocks that did nothing for me. I am on year 4 with crpsII. My pain is getting worst by the week and spreading over into my other arm and down into my entire right leg.

A/C is starting to be turned on in this office buildings and I cannot be around any a/c what so ever. I went for a ride with my son 50 mile round trip the vibration from riding in his car sent my pain to a 12+ for several hours. I am stuck in my house 24/7 365.

What should or can I do. I can't go on like this much longer.

A PM doc may not be the best guy to see about migraines. They're usually within the neurology sphere, but better still if you can find a doc whose practice is mainly migraines/headaches (a "headache guy"). If he agrees that the Opana is the cause, he should be able/willing to go to bat for you with the PM guy to make a change.
