Default discontinuing seroquel

Can anybody tell me the best way to get off this med? 800 mg. / day. My father has to go through this and I want him to succeed. The doctor has given him a reduction plan, which seems rather fast. His doctor is also giving him abilify to replace the seroquel. I just want to know if there are any secrets to getting through this successfully. Thank you.
