Help Walmart medicaid Reimbursement Policy

I was approved for ssi and ssd i recenlty recieved a letter saying I quilified for medicaid for 18months ago so I went to Walmart to see if they reimburse for money spent at that time. The manager said no before the cashier could even explain my situation to him after the cashier said they use to reimburse I feel the need to look a little further instead of just excepting his no we don,t. Does anyone have any info on Walmart policy when It comes to medicaid reimbursements.

Most pharmacies today use computer billing. When that is in place there is a short window for rebilling into the past.

Typically it is 30 days. It might be shorter or a little bit longer depending on the insurance at the time. But months is typically out of range for billing on site.

After that window, you may be able to recover past billings manually, by submitting an authorized list of your purchases, and sending them to Medicaid yourself. Check with that agency to see how to do it and obtain the proper forms. I cannot vouch for Medicaid, but other insurances do reimburse this way up to a certain time period.

You can ask if WalMart has a customer service number you can call. Maybe they can advise you further.
