Hello. I have had some bad experiances in the past with pychiatrists and drugs and forced hospitalization. Just to make me feel safer I would like to sign something so i can make it clear that that practice is against my beliefs and religion and rites in the constitution. I want to make sure that they understand that it is considered an alternative treatment just like voodoo. I am in the state of Maryland. Is there ANYTHING i can do? also i am 19 years old

In most cases/states, a competent person of legal age has the right to refuse medical treatment, however there are many variables involved, one of them being "medical treatment" being applicable to somatic (physical - not mental) illness. http://psychrights.org/articles/rightorefuse.htm Also Google: +maryland right to refuse psychiatric treatment (Be sure to include the plus (+) symbol immediately in front of "maryland") HTH, Doc
