Confused Hyoscyamine

Is anyone familiar with the drug hyoscyamine? I have alot of stomach pain due to a vitamin B deficiency. There is a neuropathy going on in there and lots of stomach pain. I just don't know if this is the right drug. What about side effects or interference with vitamin absorption?

Post Hello Lily,

I could not find hyoscyamine listed as any nutrient depleter, or affecting other medications.

This drug is used for spasms in the GI tract (cramping) or bladder.

You need to follow directions carefully, and only take the dose prescribed exactly. Do not increase doses, if you feel it is not working. Contact your doctor instead.

This drug can cause dry mouth, and blurred vision in some people.

Good luck.

this is Levsin? right mrsD?

my son has some prescribed for GI spasming related to his Crohn's Disease tho he hasnt needed it since starting on Cramp Bark capsules made by Mountain Rose Herbs. He only takes it on an as needed basis, as was the case with the Levsin

Wink yes, Chemar...

Levsin is one name for it.

I use it too for extreme cramping (so as to not develop an obstruction), for
my GI birth defect. It is very strong.

I am going to look into the cramp bark though now.
