Default ADHD and why I’m afraid to take adderall now

Hi, I apologize if this isn’t the perfect place for this question but I’m having trouble getting into the psych forum.
I have been taking adderrall since I was 18 and it used to help calm me down. This past month when I take it I feel very worked up, paranoid, and I feel like I have to be doing something. Is it possible that my brain chemistry has changed and I am not reacting to the medication like someone who has adhd and now I’m reacting to it as someone who doesn’t have adhd? Thank you
