that your stress at quitting will make it harder. In me at least (and I think most people) when you are stressing about something it magnifies your pain.

I stopped cold but felt that it quit at 6 months. Had no problem.

But do contact your doctor if you feel different. Most doctors won't let you go through withdrawal without some management.
