Default want to get off cymbalta

I really want to get off Cymbalta, although it really has helped my mood it hasn't helped with my tingling and burning pain. I heard terrible stories of withdrawl symptoms and really afraid to try it. Has anyone had issues getting off this drug? And what medication has helped anyone with tingling and burning pain?

You must go off the Cymbalta very slowly to minimize the brain zaps and sweating and headaches that can occur. I recommend tapering off with your Dr.s guidance and even going slower than recommended depending on how you feel.

Sorry I can help you with your tingling and burning question.

Best wishes.

Definitely taper DOWN slowly. I've mostly had Dizziness and nausea, sometimes vomiting with nausea. Also, my mood hits ROCK BOTTOM when I've gone off of it and I think it DOES help my pain level (for Lupus pain) even though I couldn't tell. I've gone back to it every time due to the severe depressed mood and I've never been diagnosed with depression!
For tingling ..I have successfully tried Neurotin (generic = gabapentin) but I AM NOT TELLING YOU what to take - just what I have taken before!
Some ppl claim Lyrica helps but it made me feel "cloudy" & goofy and I certainly don't need that but it works for some! Good luck!

Thanks, I'm afraid to do it not sure I want to mess with my mood, it has helped alot with the suicidal thoughts and my mood swings, I guess I'll try and stay on it and maybe see if they can add neurontin to the mix.. blah I feel like I"m such a mess...

Default also on gabapentin

No experience with cymbalta, however I was on Lyrica for burning tingling pain and it helped. It put me in the donut hole with insurance so I switched to gabapentin which is cheaper. It seems to be as good as Lyrica. good luck.

Default Hello nikkirtw

Please make sure you keep with your doctor to wean off cymbalta. I took it for awhile also, and it didn't do much for me either. My doctor reduced the dose slowly and I didin't have any issue with withdrawls. Getting off any medication that you have taken for awhile, it is best to get the doc. involved. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Default Coming off Cymbalta- Duloxetine

As everyone so wisely says, it will take a while to come off Cymbalta. In my case the tingling and burning were made worse with Cymbalta. Your doctor should give you a titration schedule based on your dosage. My tingling and burning is rare now and I take Tylenol. I have had to learn not to push myself hard or I will pay dearly with pain the next days. I did have some issues after following my titration schedule to a tea. But my doc told me what to do for it. Best to you.
