HI Mckenzie , I think you and I have been down the same road. I recognise everything you have written. About 2 weeks off Lyrica and it's all hell is kicking off .Extreme muscle spasms all over but mostly head neck and upper back. Joints very painful in knees and hands . tinnitus gone crazy today. Just want a bit of peace. Saw Doc yesterday . He does not believe that Lyrica could do this so he thinks it must be something else. Done blood tests and wants me to go on duluxetine but I'm not having it. Already got valium which I take only 2 mgs bur even scared of that. I suppose I'm just scared now and don't trust any of those docs. If Im right you've been here . How are you doing ?

Hi Nick,
I apologize I don't have the energy to read through your posts but I thought about something last night after a conversation with my pain doc, and it made me think of you.

Have you been on or tried Neurontin to help with the terrible withdrawal from Lyrica. I have been on and off Nerontin several times and NEVER had a problem with withdrawal. Perhaps a small dose of Neurontin could help you now?

Hi Nick, yes it is a side effect of Lyrica withdrawal. I am about 40 days off Lyrica now but I still never know how my day will pan out. I still get so much pain everywhere. Sometimes when I brush my longish hair it makes me want to cry. My main problem is the pain in all my joints. It is worse than the nerve pain I was in that led me to take this drug. It is so bad I cannot walk or stand for very long. Some days are better than others and when I get down I try to look at where I have come from. I congratulate myself and am proud of my body for doing its best to try to recover. I believe any drug that acts on the GABA receptors and neurotransmitters may help with the symptoms. But you are only going backwards and not truly helping your body. But do what you have to to get through this difficult time. I admit I have a scotch sometimes but although it helps in the short term I am sure it is not good for me. McKenzie

Hi Diandra, good to hear from you and I appreciate and know the effort involved in these pages as I am also exhausted most of the time. Thanks for your suggestion. It's also and effort doing battle with these docs who just won't listen . Started out today not too bad but finished off now . It's 18.49pm here and I am in some pain all over . Let me know how you are when you can. I pray for you too.

Hi Mckenzie as you say it's really tough this. Thought my back and neck scalp were not to bad earlier but all that changed and I just wish I was asleep. I am exhausted. I often find myself saying the opening lines to " All along the watch tower " There must be someway outa here. Anyway I just know you are right when you say that it's about the bodys GAba coming into or not coming into play.

Tried alcohol a week ago at daughters birthday. It did give me a lift but soon back to earth with a bump.

Thought I would write this now before everything changes. I am beginning to have some better days. Maybe a couple of days here and there are quite improved and I get excited because I forgot how good it was to be me! Only thing is I can then relapse and go bad again. When that happens it is very depressing but I try to hang on to the feeling of the good days to remind my self that my body is healing. On the good days I can walk without so much pain. I find I have the energy to get involved in family life again. It is like the sun comes out and spring is in the air! Today is one of those days so far. You too will get through. Just be happy with small steps. McKenzie

Hi Mckenzie , Great to hear you've had some good time and I pray you still are. It's strange that I had a couple of hours today when I felt great but then plunged right back again into the mire of pain and discomfort. The disappointment is crushing. It's then the anxiety really gets going cos I remember what I am missing. Anyway it was good to hear your news as it gives us all hope . And you gotta have that to keep going. Keep in touch.
