Default lyrica for those that made it off or tried.

Hi Been about 9 days now since came off Lyrica. Been a having muscle spasms in head and neck . Thought I was in control but they are getting more intense and scalp pain has returned. Aches and pains in rest of body and knees very painful ( new thing ) How have people coped with this ? Do you just tough it out as it does not seem to be working. Daily functioning getting more difficult. Would love some ideas of what to do ? Anxiety level not helping.

Thanks

Nick

I found withdrawal absolute hell right up until about day 14. Then very gradually I improved. The horrible thing for me was that every day was just as bad or worse than the last. I would have expected day 10 to be easier than e.g. day 3 of withdrawal but this was not the case. When you start to get a bit better you can look back and think it was just a few weeks. But when you are experiencing the horrors of this drug it seems like a lifetime of pain.

My experience, pretty much, mirrors McKenzie's. Things got more and more intense, before they started to improve. The pain was indescribable. I also had many other weird effects, including my eyes hurting, and watering so copiously, that I could barely see.

I hope you are under close medical supervision.

Hang in there.

Hi Hockey and mckenzie , Thanks for replies. At the moment I feel as though each day is just a chore and afraid of what will happen next, which of course does not help. Hockey that stuff with your eyes I can equate with as I started with very bad Eyeball twitching and rhinitis . But basically as you both know its your who body . Been to see my acupuncturist who showed me what the drug does and how it followed the meridians of the body. She is well qualified and also a senior physio . Also hates this sort of drug as has seen the effects in so many people. TRying keep normal each day but as you know its really difficult and indeed at times seems impossible. Neck just back in severe spasm now and scalp tight back spasming down one side of spine. What I would give for just 10 mins relief. Got the family visiting and it makes me very tired. What a shame , they don't really understand. How could they ? Am seeing Docs , but they don't think there is a withdrawal effect from Lyrica or maybe they do but afraid of admitting it ?

THanks again

Nick

I'm sorry it was so difficult for many of you. I was on it, it was a miracle drug form that made me feel much better when Neurontin was not touching my intense spinal pain. It make my walking very very bad though so I decided to stop taking it and return to the horrible pain. I did not have any of the discomfort you mentioned in the OP. I hope things return to normal for you soon. Hang in there.
