Confused Prempro Odd Side Effects???

I'm posting this in hopes that somebody else has experienced this, and to help others who are going through this. I started taking Prempro (age 48) in 2011 for sever menopause symptoms i.e. Hotflashes, chills, etc., and it did a great job. At the beginning of 2014 I started having tremors in my chest, sleeplessness, mouth sores, anxiety, weepiness, pain in my feet/hands, headaches, sever dry mouth/ears and weight loss. My OBGYN ordered extensive tests, all results were normal and thought that I perhaps needed a higher dose but that didn't help & some symptoms became worse. Now it's Dec 2014 and my symptoms are Just unbearable, so I've decided to titrate down off of the Prempro and pray to God my menopausal symptoms are gone or at least less sever. In doing so I'm hoping the tremors, sleeplessness, mouth sores, etc. will go away, and perhaps it's just that I don't need the Prempro anymore! Has anybody had this before?

They make Prempro & Premarin from pregnant mare urine..

If you read about PMU farms and how the mares & resulting foals are treated, you might decide to ask for other treatment options..

Here is a link to a site with side effects listed that were documented by the FDA. (many are not even reported however)

http://www.drugcite.com/?q=prempro

As you can see... the risk of breast cancer is enormous.

If I were you I'd stop taking it. I don't think you even need to titrate down. You may need a several month wash out period to see changes in your side effects.

If you decide to not use Prempro again, I'd research bioidentical hormones with a specialist in your area, instead.

http://www.drugs.com/cdi/prempro.html

Prempro should be used for the shortest possible time at the lowest effective dose. It is NOT a long term use medication. OB/Gyn's should know this.

I would absolutely search for another alternative to take or possibly something holistic. Reading about all the possible side effects I think I would opt out.....

I have never been able to tolerate estrogen very well and never could take Prempro at all, dreadful stuff which gave me constant PMS. There is a synthetic form of estrogen brand named Menest that caused fewer side effects for me, I don't know if its any better for you long term though. Also vaginal estrogen cream that is not absorbed as much is better.
