Default Gabapentin?

It's been nearly two years and I am still experiencing the same symptoms of burning head pain!

Head pain, in one particular spot almost burning/knot sensation. If I touch it, it hurts and if I pull the hair in that area it hurts. Touching can also make me feel sick!

MRI brain- normal
CT brain- normal with mucocele in sinus (front left so no relation) although I have got alot of post nasal drip
MRI cervical spine- Small foraminal disc bulge C5-C6 causing nerve compression downwards to left arm which I do get pins and needles in (GP says unlikely to cause pain upwards)
Eye test- normal
Amitriptyline 10mg- no help
Amitriptyline 20mg- tachycardia in the morning so I stopped as this terrfied me
Gabapentin- too scared to try as causes horrible symptoms and I'd rather get to the cause of the pain!!
Physio- Doesn't think neck issues are causing it as each session he trys to exacerbate the pain to no avail

I am going back to see GP tomorrow in the hope they'll refer me to Neurology but I think he'll try and make me take Gabapentin and I am really reluctant.

Does anyone have any experience with this medication as I am terrified???

Hi, I can't speak about gabapentin, but I can speak about grape seed extract. For your issues I cannot say anythng for sure, but grape seed extract is one of the few antioxidants that cross the blood brain barrier. I'm on this antoixidant 20 yrs soon.

The efficacy of Grape Seed Extract in the treatment of common vascular ... is one of the few antioxidants capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier-a selectively ...

There are many links on this blood brain barrier and grape seed extract and pycnogenol and probably resveratrol.

Hope the link opens.

I have been on gabapentin, 2400 mg per day, for about 15 years. My only side effects are some swelling at the ankles and dependance because when I forget to take it I pay for it with legs on fire.
