Talking Welcome!

Hi Silverfire58,

Welcome to NeuroTalk!
Please make yourself at home an any of the forums here.

I am very sorry your young daughter suffers Central Pontine Myelinolysis.
I am sure this is a challenge for each of you.

Baclofen has been around for many years. It's often used as a muscle relaxant and/or for spasticity. It is used for certain types of pain, usually.

There can be spasticity with this condition.

I have a neuromuscular condition with lots of spasticity. I was first tried on baclofen as a muscle relaxant. It gave me so much relief, for which I was very thankful. However, by the third dose or so, I had realized I was wheezing and short of breath. I cannot take this med, most unfortunately, as it gave me the most relief. I was drowsy on this med.

That said, baclofen is used often with various types of spasticity/pain.

Many people have benefited from this medication.

Are you concerned this med further impairs your daughter?

Here's some info. on baclofen's uses, dosage and side effects:

I am sure other members will be along to comment.

Again, welcome to NeuroTalk.

My best to you and your daughter.
