Hi I`m 6 months out from benzo withdrawal and getting some weird head symptoms, foggy head, dizzy and a pressure. Do these all go?

Anyone been through this?

I was taking 1/2mg for some time and weaned off and when I read and heard about it's link to alzheimers, I got off it immediately. No issues for me.

I hope things will work out for your and good you are off. There are other calmers to work with which I do, Inositol, Gaba, L-Theanine and others I'm sure.

Grape seed extract is great to help with fog and dizzy (vertigo) issues. I've been taking this OPC for 20 yrs. Keeps the blood thinned, we don't want thick sticky blood.

Benzo withdrawal is rarely, if ever, seen after six months of complete discontinuation (ie, you haven't taken a single pill in six months). Benzo withdrawal is particularly unique because the symptoms don't gradually disappear, instead being severe some days and less severe on other days.

If you're coming off of a longer acting benzo, like clonazepam, diazepam, or clorazepate, the symptoms are generally mellower than symptoms seen from lorazepam or alprazolam usage.

The symptoms you report, with the fact that you're 6 months free of benzos, aren't consistent with benzo withdrawal. It's rather unlikely. If you've had a few sporadic relapses (no judgement by the way), then benzo withdrawal is a possibility. Hopefully your doctor was smart enough to taper you off of the benzo safely and comfortably. That is essential to success.

If the symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience seizures, a physicians evaluation would be ideal.

I've seen another one of your posts and just wanted to say welcome and glad you're here to add another layer of knowledge to our wonderful group. I like that you are not 'dead' set when you explain something. People need different info they can look through IMHO.

Just a question I've not asked my dr yet. I'm on BuTrans patch 20 mcg/hr. Started at 5 mcg/hr and titrated up a month at a time. His limit is the 20. I also take oxycodone 10-325 three times a day.

This is for my severe SFN that I have been working on since May 2013.

My question....if I ever decide to go off of this medication I'm guessing he'll just titrate me down monthly like when I went on them. Is that pretty accurate ? Can I expect withdrawal symptoms ?

I titrated down from Cymbalta 30 mgs that I had been on for months and didn't have any withdrawal issues. One time I was also switched from gabapentin 1800 mgs or more (can't remember) to Lyrica in one day and didn't have an issue until I had a bad side effect and had to go off the Lyrica....I did learn during that 6 week period that the gabapentin was helping some so I did go back on that.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread joy2u but maybe more posters will help you with this issue and I guess it pertains to mine too ?
