I'm going to the market tomorrow and will get a nice stock of brocolli, brussel sprouts, romaine lettuce and some other Greens and these are all alkaline. I'm on last little bunch of brocolli and will eat that today. I'm still eating meat as I feel good on meats, but not great amounts. I add to my greens real butter and coconut oil. And sea salt.
Dave, the best tasting potatoe was in the UK back in the 80's and thinking it was probably from Ireland. I'd love to have one of those but it's not gonna happen. I don't like to waste either, but if a food in the refrig could be questionable, out it goes. I don't bring bread in my house but will offer to make a stuffing for thanksgiving meal at my daughters. To each his own thinking and beliefs. I'm not a scientist but do subscribe to the alternative/complimentary/holistic world of healing and living.
I could go on about more issues but why. C |

There is a lot of mind opening info on this site. I read with a lot of interest on the history of antiacids which is to the left on this page. Talking about low acid in our stomachs especially with aging. It's a good read and I keep reading over it to understand it all.
My neighbor is plagued with reflux, gerd, lots of stomach issues and yesterday I brought to her attention the ACV tablespoon after meals to get more acid to the stomach for better digestion. I've been taking hydrochloric acid with Pepsin for a couple yrs and for the most part I don't have digestive issues. Never really did in my life. Heartburn when I was pregnant over 50 yrs ago but none since. My neighbor started with ACV tsp at a time yesterday and she "thinks" it's helped already. This is the main link: http://healthwyze.org/index.php/comp...d-to-know.html Again the Antiacid link is worth checking out: I hope this works: http://healthwyze.org/index.php/comp...digestion.html I've gone on and off with ACV over many years as it's promoted for arthritis help too. I'm off it now but will buy some today, probably Braggs. Before pharma became so huge our earlier generations used so many home remedies to help their health. I'm not posting this info to debate anyone. Just FYI if one is interested. |

Caroline, thank you for those links.
I would like to comment on something from the first one: "When a body reaches a pH level of 7.4 (alkaline instead of acidic), cancers become dormant" This is factually incorrect. In my day job I have grown many kinds of cancer cells (ranging from lymphomas to breast cancer cells) in tissue culture at pH 7.4. They do not "become dormant" - quite the contrary, they grow very well at pH 7.4. Also, under physiological conditions, the various kinds of blood cancer cells (leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma cells, etc) often proliferate rapidly in blood at pH 7.4 and can be lethal in the absence of treatment. The same applies to solid tumours in other anatomical sites at pH 7.4. I hope that this factual information may help NT members who are dealing with/are in remission from cancer.

I have used Apple Cider Vinegar off and on for years, I bought Bragg's book in 2002 to help with arthritis condition. My neighbor and I are using it now for digestive issues. She has a lot of issues and tried SO MUCH over the years I know her. But not ACV, but now she is working with it. Here is a good link on how ACV can help our digestion. There are many more information links. As we know, almost everyone has something to say about everything.
http://health.howstuffworks.com/well...f-vinegar3.htm I use only organic ACV. Drink a little water after I chug it down. Usually not more than 1 tsp before a meal .. |
