Going on a trip and have some lortab I use for pain sometimes at night along with a low dose valium. I am planning on using this at night only, but wondered if in the daytime I could use a ultram to keep down the pain level while riding in the car or should I just stick with the loratab in the day? I have to find some mixture to help besides the ice I am taking. Can't use ibuprofen this week because I have surgery(just on my hand) 7-10. My pain level is already higher than usual so I figure the trip will really send it soring, usually does. I have a PM appointment July 18 and I am so glad! Finally maybe I can get some relief??? Thanks, Gaye

I am not sure but I would personally give the ultram a try. I take the generic version I believe of ultram, its called tramadal for pain when its needed.
And it works very well. I used to have to take loratab too at one point a long time ago. B ut I found that I could taper down to tramadal from the loratab too. So I would give it a try. And I even had some of the samples of ultram, and it worked even better for me that the generic form, but that I'm not sure why. So maybe it will for you too. So the pain will be better. I would definately give it a try. It works lots better than ibprofen for me. And my doctor prescribed it because I was to be on tylenol or ibprofen for life from a situation in my elbow. But have had other injuries and this is all I need when I have other problems, and don't always need it for the other any mroe now. Donna |

Thanks Donna, I think I will give it a try. Sounds good to me and hopefully will help me to enjoy my trip more without some of the pain. Gaye
