Another negative for me, MrsD. I've been on Lansoprazole for years and others like Zantac before. For me they are a necessary evil - I suffer with ulcers and instant excess acid, pain and burning, if I take nothing. For years before the Lansoprazole I got through a bottle of Gaviscon every 3 days!
What can you do? Dave.

DGL has been a small miracle for me. I ended up with an ulcer from a pharma drug back in the 80's and know there is a weakness there...ulcer is healed but I'm so careful. Somehow I found DGL otc supplement.

So that's the cause of my 'senility'
I was erroneously put on omaprazole for misdiagnosed reflux before my Addison's diagnosis! I don't mean to be flippant about Alzheimer's but it was interesting to read the statistic about 70% of the prescriptions being inappropriate. I've also read elsewhere that as many as 15% of people in care for dementia and/or Alzheimer's are incorrectly diagnosed - similarly many of those in care are inappropriately prescribed tranquilizers or antidepressants solely to make them easier to look after with fewer staff. |
