My daughter came over today to bring me a phone system she wasn't using. My answering machine quit working and I was in between decisions on what to buy. So far the phone she brought me is good. This old soul has not bought a cell phone. Hard to believe huh?

We talked more about her D.O. treatments and she's had 3 and says there is a shift going on and overall she feels lighter. I've mentioned that my daughter lost her hearing due to meds some yrs ago and wears a cochlear implant, and during the session, she removes her device from behind her ear and head as the D.O. does cranial work. She does not hear a sound when the instruments are removed.

My daughter has regrets but knows her marriage gave her the children she loves and lives for. The D.O. is very spiritual and was working on the "regrets" issue my daughter mentioned. It sounds pretty special and I need a push to go to her, she does take medicare and that would be me. But not for my daughter, but as my daughter said, "if it's helping as I feel it is, I can do this work for a while". She would get a bit of a discount if a family member went to the D.O. and that would be me.

And yes we all find our ways of healing.

My daughter had her 4th D.O. session today and said "she's feel so great" and the D.O. said her body is "holding" the work she is doing. Today the D.O. did some work on the foot and believes some OA has set in there. The D.O. does some measuring which tells her how things are going too. My daughter has had an MRI on the foot but is not getting help from the doc's office who ordered the MRI. He's moved from the office and now they are saying they don't know where the records are. THese MRI's are expensive and she's paid for it and now the D.O. would like to see it and daughter can't come up with it.

I see the D.O. next Tuesday to start her work. Releasing and unlocking years of stress in the body takes time.

Check with the place where the MRI was done, was it at a hospital?
They usually have a copy, if drs office has lost theirs.
She may have to pay for a copy.
Or the drs office should be able to request another copy for her.
Unless the MRI was done at their own office..but it should have been saved somewhere..

Just checking in with an update on my daughter. Talking to her after 4th D.O. session, she says it's amazing how different she feels overall. Less pain in foot (collapsed tendon) and it's all about re-aligning the body. In the meantime she went to another MD, podiatrist, to try to find out WHY the foot collapsed and he knew right away. From flat feet. Says the only correction is surgery but the 64K question is WHEN, how long to wait, the recovery/rehab is long and hard and she's alone raising her children. Still one at home and a dog. Her daughter has flat feet, and the son has good arches. So she will be taking the daughter to the podiatrist for probably new orthotics as the same issue could happen to her daughter. She kinda sees signs already.

But overall the D.O. work is working. I think I posted the D.O.'s link in the beginning here which lists the work she does. My daughter's voice is even stronger as she's in less pain overall. As I said, I see the D.O. next week. Maybe she can take some pressure off my lower back. C

It's always great when you find a good care provider, no matter what letters are after the name..
Good and not so good in all fields...medical as well as any service providers..

I prefer a DO as well, they tend to look more at the whole than most MDs.

Some medical history that MOST don't know. We are discussing this issue of allopathic and alternative medicine at my other health group and learning more of the history of it all. There are many books written also and I bought my first mind opening book back in the 90's.. So more education. As one of our members says: knowledge is power

I'd like to keep this as my journal too for the D.O. work. My daughter just reported on her 5th session today. She is telling me that the years of fluid build up in her ankles is reducing a lot. She has talked to doctors about this for years and they offer her diuretics which cause muscle cramps. So she takes more mag and potassium..but the D.O. work is working on eliminating fluids. Amazing she says. She has the collapsed tendon (flat feet) and it would be GREAT if the D.O. work saved her from major surgery.

She made an appt for her 15 yr old son as he complains about leg pains a lot...could still be growing pains for him too. But she's having him see the D.O.

I see the D.O. today and don't expect mega relief but we have to start somewhere...

Wow, what a trip that was, my 1st session. I must have been on the table with her work/hands for about 45 minutes and walked out of the room HIGH like I walked before almost. She talked about getting the body back into balance after the surgery trauma and will hopefully get the leg evened out too. What a worker. I'm down on the books for the next 3 Tuesdays. I hope who ever reads all this "gets it" and understands what these D.O's do.

In the event anyone gets interested in Traditional D.O. work, here is a listing for these doctors in the U.S. It's probably not complete, as my D.O. is not listed.

I think my daughter has had her 7th session by now. D.O. says to skip next week and come in the following week. She will take her son next week for his first session. The boy is athletic and in pain for his young body. Fell off his skatboard last week...so many boys are so daring and damage their bodies with their "no fear" minds.

I had my 2nd session this week and it was good and on the books for next 4 weeks.

Again I saw two babies who had D.O. work on them. And my daughter said a woman had her dog there for D.O. work.

So it does help the body overall if one can find a D.O. worker in their area. Sad it's been so dismissed in this modern medicine complex.

Here is Andrew Still's History:
