Here is an interesting article reveals the truth about statins:

Should I Stop My Statins? - Dr. Mark Hyman

There are other links in his article worth reading.

This Statin issue is such a Hot Topic and discussed by many. We have a discussion going on the other health group I'm active on and almost everyone is against statins but two people and one's husband is an MD and the other person works in some capacity in a medical office. They never give up on their "science" angle. I'd say they have special interests in statins. I'd NEVER take them. I've been talking about how enough mention cholesterol myth.

I also have really high cholesterol (total closing in on 300) and neuropathy. Took statins for a few years but didn't develop neuropathy till perhaps 10 years later. Doubt they are related (but don't really know) but refuse to take them again. Doc thinks I'm "living on the wild side. I think I'm "picking my battles."
Curious that Hyman recommends take Red Yeast Rice, a "natural" statin that has the exact same side effects of prescribed statins. Google this if you're considering following this course of action.
