Another member and I have been discussing homeopathy in the Children's forum and cancer was brought up for discussion and homeopathics...I never thought of this but decided to do a search, and sure enough information is available.
I hope this link is printable here. Much more than placebo:Homeopathy reverses cancer | CANCERactive I'm certainly not endorsing this medicine for cancer, but one I never thought to look into. |

And just remember, people who do pharma drug therapies for their cancers very often use many other adjuncts -- with their doctor's knowledge. This is where, in my life, a knowledgeable holistic cancer doctor is wonderful support.

I think that what is in the link above is not convincing.
I can see no evidence of what is called a double-blind clinical trial there. These are standard in evidence-based medicine. In a double-blind clinical trial some subjects, at random, get the possible new treatment (in this case a homeopathic treatment) and other subjects get nothing (a placebo). The phrase "double-blind" is important. Nobody involved in the trial knows which subjects got the possible new treatment (in the case the possible homeopathic treatment) and which subjects got placebo until the trial is over. If somebody can show me the results of a well-designed clinical trial which shows that homeopathic treatment can be effective I will take them seriously. Until then I will not.

That's OK Kiwi, some NEED science and some in the world are pleased with results.. For some time I was a member of the ABC homeopathic group when I was considering getting into this medicine full boar but just could not go all the way with this medicine ... it takes commitment, not just popping a pharma pill. Wonder what the ABC people would say about cancers and homeopathy...

When I click on a link to a Website with a medical topic, like the one in the first post in this thread, I try to find out if the Website is selling something. It usually doesn't take much digging to find out if it is selling a product or products.
Through this Website, for instance, you can buy a book about the "Rainbow Diet" as well as other books and products. If I find that a Website is selling something, I back away from it. The chances are that the people who are in charge of that site are more interested in marketing their products than in giving responsible information about medical matters. Yes, regular MDs in a way are "selling something" too, every time your doctor suggests a remedy to you or writes a prescription for you. That doctor is hoping that you will follow the advice he/she gives or take the rx prescribed. It's entirely up to you, and yes, you're still in a marketplace even in a mainstream doctor's office or clinic. But at least you're in a community where there are some standards that they have to live up to, with policing agencies overseeing those standards and whether people are complying with them. There's very little oversight in the world of alternative medicine, unfortunately, and there is a lot of marketing of products that are worthless or even dangerous out there.

Why are people so paranoid about companies that sell something so they don't believe the facts of their products. If I had NOT listened to a lecture on Pycnogenol in 1995 by a company that was bringing it into the U.S. and SELLING IT, I would not have appreciated all the Good Health I live with 25 yrs later. And Pycnogenol and Grape Seed Ex are indicated for MS patients also....I often wonder if my sister had been on it would she still be alive today...
You don't think pharma and doctors sell something? Are their drugs free?. |
