Hi Steff
I had to google Pamelor and it said Nortriptylin. I've been taking that for 2+yrs. I take for pain related to MS, and I take 3 caps (30 mg) at bedtime. The script is written for up to 5.

I think I started at 10mg for 3 days, then 20mg for 3, and then went to 30mgs. I notice it makes me sleepy. And throws my balance way off if I take 40mg. I've never taken 5omg at once, as I am sensitive to meds and the side effects usually keep me at lower doses.

Do I notice a difference? no. But I have such problems sleeping any help I can get is welcome. If I'm having a higher then normal pain day. I take one during the day. Not sure if it does anything, but I don't notice things getting better or worse.

My new neuro says it stays in the bloodstream, 72 hours, I believe. So time of day taken isn't crucial to relief. More likely it is keeping the doseage level consistant.

I hope I have been of some help. If I missed anything, please ask.
