After being on methadone for 17 years, my dr. is switching me over to TR Morphine for my chronic pain. I am hopeful that it will be better in controlling my pain. Can anyone tell me more about it? Thanks!

My husband swears that Morphine is the greatest pain relief he's had in 10 years. He's been on Oxycontin, hydrocodone, Kadian, Percocet, Fentayl patch, and Ultram in the past and nothing worked as well. He takes 700mg a day. 200mg in the am, 300mg in the afternoon (he works a very labor intense job) and another 200mg at night. along with 6- 30mg Oxycodone for break through pain. He also takes Lamictal, a seizure med for nerve pain that he likes a lot too. Swears it helps a lot. It seems like a lot of med but he's been in pain mgment a LOONNGG time. It goes MUCH higher!! Good luck |
