I recently had a tooth extraction and followed the advice of Bryanna and purchased some Arnica tablets to help with swelling and healing. Not only did the Arnica work for my dental procedure, it also gave me a very surprising benefit.
For years I've dealt with ankle and lower leg edema. I have no heart issues, in my case it's MS. My leg muscles don't work correctly to move the fluid throughout my legs so it pools in my lower legs and causes swelling. I started taking Arnica on a Thursday and that Sunday I noticed there was no swelling whatsoever in my ankles and legs! I have not seen my ankles look like this in years! My DH is absolutely amazed. He's never seen my ankles look so "normal". So after massive amounts of internet research I am still a tad confused as to whether or not Arnica is safe to take long-term - I've read conflicting statements. If anyone knows with any certainty if the sublingual tablets are safe for long-term use or can point me in the right direction, I'd be thrilled. For me this is a wonder drug but I just want to make sure I can continue taking it indefinitely. |

so glad to read that you got extra benefits MSCherokee
arnica is such good stuff isnt it sure also helped me when I had the multiple teeth extractions! I keep the cream here too and it works wonders for bruising and helps heal bumps aches sprains etc so much faster just should *never* be used on open wounds I do know people with arthritis that take the homeopathic pillules longterm and seem to be doing great, but honestly dont know about with MS and if you are on any meds that may interact long term I know our holistic physicians have always stressed the importance of time "off" for herbal or homeopathic remedies so one doesnt develop tolerance

Chemar, I just can't say enough good things about it! DH is now taking it as it seems he's caught my cold.
From what you've said I'm thinking about taking a smaller "maintenance" dosage and taking frequent breaks, which makes perfect sense. I actually haven't taken any immuno-modulating MS meds since 2004. The only meds I take are Provigil for fatigue and birth control pills. I may have to order some cream to keep on hand as well. |

Recently, I had a bad bruise. I bruise easily.
I took a few tablets of this. Also rubbed a cream of arnica and another of Vitamin K...Wow! I got great healing results. |

Gosh, I love this stuff! I decided to take a break for a few days and yep, swelling is back in legs and ankles, albeit not near as bad as before. Right now, I'm just experimenting, trying to find a way to keep the swelling to a minimum without developing a tolerance to arnica. I sure wish I could find a holistic physician in my area.
