Quick Update - Last Friday I had an LP, Sunday spent day in ER went back Monday for a blood patch. I haven't been able to get my strength back. Yesterday I was given Dolobid for inflamation to help with LP and also Hydroxyzine for pain.
I was told to take these along with my Baclofen & Predizone. I took them last night and again this morning, I can't stay awake! I am up for 10 minutes and then down for 3 hours.... I am thinking it is the Hydrozyzine for pain but how long before it gets out of my system? help

hydroxyzine for pain? This is a sedative used for anxiety and also a very
potent antihistamine. Actually the most potent there is. Dolobid is an NSAID anti-inflammatory. Some of these are more lipophilic than others --Dolobid and Orudis, are examples of more lipophilic versions. Ibuprofen and naproxen are less so. Lipophilic ones enter the brain more than the others. This leads to sedation and sometimes blurred vision. Dolobid is hardly used in this country anymore. Perhaps this was given because of the blood patch in the spinal cord. The hydroxyzine should be gone in 8 to 12 hrs. I don't understand why you were given this. Did you have an allergic reaction of some kind?

Thanks Mrsd - when I woke up enough to call my Dr today she said to stop them which I already had..... She said just about the same as you did. She felt it was way to much and not needed at all. I am a wake a little more tonight but getting sleepy once again after being up for 20 minutes. She told me by morning I should have it out of my system.
Thank you for the help!
