I am on 20 mg. Celexa and it wakes me very easily at night like every 2 hours. I think I will try taking it in the morning instead of at bedtime. Any one with any ideas for me I would appreciate. I have been a member in the past. Thanks, Jackie

Hi Jackie,
Sorry you've gone unanswered, many are busy in other areas and it's hard, for me anyway to remember where I've been. Anyway - Celexa should be taken in the morning not at night. Best to inform your doctor of the change/reason . If you haven't done so already miss the usual night dose and take it the following morning. Many of the SSRI's will make you alert, no surprise you can't sleep. hope it's better Nick |

Celexa did the exact opposite to me. Turned me into a zombie. If I sat still for more than 10 minutes I'd fall asleep. If makes it difficult for you to sleep, take it in the morning. If it makes you groggy take it in the evening about an hour or so before bedtime. You may have to experiment with the dose timing to find what works best for you.

Hi,
Quite right Jarret and I didn't elaborate properly. Sorry for the confusion Jackie & Jarret- I meant - because of Jackie's insomnia (side effect) Celexa should be taken in the morning not at night. The most important point was to notify the doctor of change/reason so they are kept up to date with any problems. Not a problem, as long as Jacky is coping better. |
