Post no...

The are not addicting... Addiction means that the person "craves" the drug and craves more of it over time.

But both drugs do affect the body in ways that make it hard
to stop taking them. They ideally should be tapered down when stopped. There have been reports of some people having seizures when discontinued suddenly.
This is a form of physiological habituation, similar to the effects of SSRI SSNI antidepressants. They must also be tapered off.

Hello MrsD,
I have been on the two for 4-5 days now. I can not sleep. I'm wide awake. Slept 3 hours last nite. Don't feel tired just wired! They had me stop the flexeril at bedtime, which I'm sure might be part of it.
I'm on lyrica 75mg 2xs, and gabapentin 300mg 3xs. Have you ever heard of mixing the two? And what exactly do they do? Change my nerve cells? Or block nerve transmitters?

Hi there, I have heard of mixing the two.........I have been debating
trying it. I also had tons of energy when starting Gabapentin. It did
eventually go away.

I also know in the lyrica info it says if you have drug or alcohol dependence
to let your doc know before starting it. I am confused as to why because
I didnt have a high feeling when taking it, although some here have said
they did after taking it.

I stopped taking lyrica as I thought gabapentin did the job better and
lyrica was very expensive. My doc says sometimes they work
better together for some.

Good luck

Confused frusterated and hopeless

I havew really bad anxiety.I have lived in a state phyciatric institutions for 7 yrs from the age of 15-22.I didnt need to be in there even the treatment team and doctors said so but in nj if you havent family or freinds to get you out your stuck in there ( locked up and threw away the key long story. My mom put me in ther to get rid of me becouse I told of all the abuse that was going on.The first hospitol I was in for two weeks and they released me back home. When I tryed to tell my mom what she was doing was wrong she told me it was her house her rules and I could go back in if I werent happy. So I just shut my mouth and became more depressed so she stuck me back in and left me ther. The team and doc. said they couldnt release me back in the same destructive family. They needed my mom to come in and talk but she always had some kind of excuse, therfor I was unable to get out.In our county ther was only 2 group home and There wasnt enouph beds so I waited and waited.Eventually I was 18 so instead of childrens state hosp. they transfered me to adult hospitol one became over crowded so they move dme to another.I didnt think I was ever going to get out.I got out eventually I went on day passes and started going to a church,a family took me in and I eventually got on my own 2 feet.Im now married W 2 boys and am happy except for a couple of things.Befor I could run and start over wherever and whenever I wanted but know I caint cause of my family I love them too much.KNow Im faced with alot of undealt with emotions. Anxiety bipolar and ptsd. The thing I haver the most problem with is the anxiety I am now on valium. I need to know what is better and stronger valiium or zanex.Never been on zanex but on 5mg of valium.both are addictive but id rather having my mind normal outweighs the addiction part so I need to know wich one works better and Quicker for the sake of my two boys and husband. My anxiety is getting out of control ,They have tryed me on lexapro at 20mg and it made me really sick then abilify and I couldnt sleep and my irratability increased.and others depakot zoloft plz tell me of anyrthing you can about your experience with eithr zanex or valium.Another thing the valium Ive taken for too days but i get headaches but I seem calmer.which one do you think is better HELP ME PLZ
