Default MS Contin (Morephine Sulfate)

Posting this in hopes to alert anyone else on this medication to maybe save you from the panic we went through......I went to fill my husband's MS Contin yesterday and pharmacy told me it had been recalled. He would out, and of course was in a panic wondering what would happen now....all I could think of was drug withdraws and how horrible that would be for him (and me too). Did some online research as it seems as though they were recalled for size variation and that improper doses could be given in error because of this. Luckily, I called a different pharmacy in town first thing this morning and was able to get the medicine filled. It is from a different manufacturer, is a different color, but hopefully will help him in the same manner. So if this happens to you....don't panic like we did....make some calls, do some checking and hopefully it will work out for you too.

Thanks for bringing this up.

There are other medications involved in this same recall:

Also there is a temporary shortage of raw material for
oxycodone tablets. People might get caught short on this drug too, involving many manufacturers.
