The main ingredient in that product is magnesium malate.

This you can buy at Puritan's Pride very inexpensively.
The other ingredients even at 6/day, are rather low.

From what I see on the net this is a very expensive product.
The ingredient list is for 2 tablets, and they recommend 6 per day?

compare:
http://www.puritan.com/mineral-produ...20acid&rdcnt=1

I doubt one would need 6 of either of these...except under extreme circumstances. 2 of them would give 300mg of magnesium a day.

If you like the bromelain aspect, that can be added inexpensively. Grapeseed extract starts at 100mg caps and up from there. The combo product is subpotent for that.

If it works for you, fine. But it seems rather pricey to me.

Given that Fibro is complex, most of the symptoms are centrally perceived pain. The NutriWest product is for inflammation in the muscles...which is more myofascial in origin. IMO many FM patients really just have low magnesium, and when you fix that, it improves. Real Fibro would not respond that way...there would still be significantly perceived pain.

Yes, it's WAY expensive, that's why I was asking. But, Dr. Davis says that he feels the malic acid is the most important ingredient in the tablets. He also said that the fibro patients that have been trying it have had really good results.

I really hate taking multiple pills. My one-time, abusive ex-husband made me take tons of vitamins when we were married, yes made me. LOL so anything he made me do, I ended up not wanting to do anymore. The less I have to take the better I like it.

Is the malic acid available through that place as well?

here's what one site says about malic acid and FM. http://intelegen.com/nutrients/malic...bromyalgia.htm

Yes, the malic acid (malate portion of the Puritan product)
is supposed to be good for the muscles.

The Puritan product would give you 1/2 of a year's supply for
$17.99.

There is a sale that comes up soon, once a year. Buy one get two free! at Puritan. It usually starts in May or so. Then you could get what you need for a whole year for a song!
They have really reasonable shipping too. (sometimes they send you Emails for FREE shipping... randomly).
Sign up for the catalog and emails, then you will know when the deals are available.

Be advised that the tablet is pretty large, you might have to cut them in half, but that does not affect them in any way.

I buy my general supplements from Puritan, and my specialty ones from iherb.

Ohhhh okay. I got the b vitamin you suggested from iherb. Yes, i think the malic acid is 2 for 1 now but maybe I looked wrong.

Boy I'm slow on the uptake. I would have been trying this long ago if I thought it might help.

And I just discovered that this should have been in the vitamin forum.

Thank you!

Found several articles talking about malic acid for Fibro. http://chronic-illness-treatments.su...e_chronic_pain
