Hey there, just curious as to people's experience with Buspar, I have a rx for it from my pdoc and am going to slowly get off the lorazepam I take for anxiety currently. What are it's side effects and effectiveness for anxiety?
Thanks in advance everyone, hope this helps with my problem.

Buspar has proven to be widely effective in many patients. There are many recovery or alcoholic folks that cannot/will not take addictive drugs, and therefore are not able to take the benzo style drugs which tend to be highly addictive. Buspar has an extremely low addictive rate, and has been widely used around the US.
I used to work as a prison nurse and we dispensed it frequently, and found most had great results from it. I hope it works as well for you too.

I used Buspar for awhile but didn't find it helped my anxiety all that much. I do better with Klonopin, but I was at an extreme level with anxiety. The side affects that were a problem for me was headaches and being sleepy.
I hope you find it helps your anxiety.

Then about a half hour later, the walls started closing in and something was out to get me. I don't know which group of people you'll fall in - some people swear by it, but others find it increases their anxiety rather than relieving it. |

I don't know either, will have to see, only got it filled to have it to try, I don't expect it will really be the end al be all that lorazepam is for my anxiety, but when I am low on that is when I will try it. Thanks for sharing your experience with it JoyHealer.
