Unhappy Groin Pain

Hi Everyone

I've had MP since 6-11-12, I find that it's difficult to walk up steps due to the fact I get groin pain.

Does anyone else suffer from this or is the groin pain a separate issue from MP.

BTW

What are the Do's and Don'ts with this condition I find that I'm in pain quite a bit.

Default Meralgia Parasthetica--

--involves the lateral fermoral cutaneous nerve (which is only a sensory nerve--no motor functions) that runs along from the lower pelvis along the outside of the thigh, terminating slightly above the knee. It can become compressed anywhere along that length, although the pelvic area is the most common site for that.

If you're having groin pain, along the INNER part of the thigh, it's likely that's a distinct issue from meralgia parasthetica. It is certainly possible you have compression in the pelvic area affecting more than one nerve tract. Or, the problems could stem from higher up in the lumbar spine. It would seem an MRI of these areas might be in order.

Standing and Walking increase the irritation. Same with tight cloths, or belts. You need to exercise and get your core strength up, which puts you in a Catch 22 situation. Answer is Deep water Aqua Aerobics. Lidocaine Patches are your friend as long as you shave the area. Main cure is losing weight.

I know this is old post, but I don't deal with MP, but Femoral Nerve Damage from a hip replacement in 2010, major groin pain which showed broken down jagged spurs on the groin area pushed me to the hip replacement....I don't have the groin pain now, but a mess from the hip replacement surgery. I was 70 when groin pain came on.
