Its been probably close to 2 years since the diagnosis... It took forever for the doctors ( I saw 3-4 including neuro surgeon, ortho surgeon and a pain management specialist)
Has anyone else been told this condition is more likely to be permanent?. I have had cortisone/lidocaine injections.. intravertebral and transforaminal with no success. I also have bulging L3, L4, L5, and S 1 discs in back.. but get this... I have never had back pain... not really. The neuro surgeon does not think surg will have any affect as there is a nerve trapped. ok.. I didnt like the idea of back surgery either. My main problem is I also have severe bone on bone osteo arthritis in my knees.. One has been replaced.. the other I am afraid to have replaced because of the nerve involvement. Lately I have had some problems with my foot ( on affected side) swelling... usually if I fall asleep in a chair etc... I also have more hip pain as well as burning bee sting pain. I also have been having muscle spasms.. like a constant charley horse. I take Baclofen for spasms.. my pain management specialist is using low dose vicodin |
