Hey, I have had essential tremor since I was 26, I am now 52. Last year I had dbs surgery. If you do have it, it's fixable and worth it for the quality of your life. I tried all the drugs, but they made me feel drugged. It took many years to get around to dealing with it, lots of embarrassment, humiliation, you name it. The real reason I did it was to show my kids bravery and strength in the face of this - it is inherited and one of them may develop it. Now they know there is a solution. This condition can be very very depressing.
