Default ET? The Extra Tremorrrrrrestrial?

Hi everyone, I am not officially diagnosed with ET but my dad and brother have the same type of tremor as I do, so I think it's the familial version. I am 40 by the way. Over the past 6 months or so I noticed my neck quivering very slightly. Then about 3 months ago my right hand got involved. Pretty moderate to light tremors mainly with my arm suspended or my hand suspended. The tremor depends on what direction I have my hand in. And the head got worse also, from a quiver to a sort of back and forth or up and down wobble. Again, not too bad most times. The tremors do subside with beer and then the morning after beer, they're worse, which I understand is what they call "rebound tremor".

However the symptoms seem to have leveled out, and they're not too bad now. But I have noticed one odd thing: They seem to be one-track minded. Meaning that only one thing tremors at a time. If my hand is doing it then my head stops. Or if I type, my head stops. Also if I am doing my little nervous leg thing that you see people do a lot (not related to ET), then it stops as well. Weird huh. It seems like something has to be moving. When my feet are not in shoes, sometimes they even move around nervously, like writhing. Sometimes when my feet are suspended, my toes ball up, and I am always catching myself standing up on the outside of my feet with the insides of my feet off the floor, which makes one of my friends uneasy. He says "How the heck are you DOING that and it's not hurting?" Well, it's oddly comfortable.

Also I have noticed some weakness in my hands, especially the right hand (the tremor one). Also after some exertion by the hand, it hurts pretty bad, but then goes away. We had some snowfall last week and I had to brush off my car, and after that my hand hurt pretty badly. Pretty weak too, brushing off my car shouldn't have fatigued my hand so much. Not sure what that's all about. My left leg has got a little stiff also with a tiny bit of weakness in my ankles/feet. Exercising works it out. I thought maybe it was arthritis, but that doesn't usually have a tremor.

The other odd thing is some stiffness. At least I *think* it's stiffness. When I wake up in the morning and then after I get out of bed for a couple hours, I have these really intense whole body stretches. It's almost involuntary like when you stretch after being in one position for a while, but then it's just crazy intense. I do it a couple times in bed and it involves my whole body, then it just makes me pretty much collapse all my muscles and I slump to the mattress for a moment. Weird man. Weird.

Anyone else get this one-track mind tremor, or the morning stiffness, or the pain with hand exertion? Oh yeah and before you ask, no medical coverage right now so I am just fishing on forums to see what people say.

Thanks all

Default ET

Mine get better when I have music playing and I am tapping to the beat. My head, arms and hands have tremors. My Grandmother had them. I'm not officially diagnosed yet either, but I have seen the Neurologist and have another appointment on January 20th and will hopefully have a diagnosis! I wish you well in your journey!
