Default Update on limb shaking.

So dearest NeuroTalk Angels,

My fabulous Neurologist has ordered a CT Scan of my head and neck with an infusion that makes this an angiogram of my head and neck blood supply.

BECAUSE he thinks it may be this rare TIA episodes caused by positional occlusion of the carotids, causing an existent blockage to close and deprive me of oxygen to the brain.

Well, this needs attention for sure. With the first episode over two years ago he ordered a scan of my carotids which seemed clear. But with this recurrence he suspects the occlusion is above the area scanned.

Limb-Shaking Transient Ischemic Attacks: Case Report and Review of Literature

In summary, limb shaking is a rather uncommon form of transient ischemic attack that should be recognized and differentiated from conditions like focal motor seizures. We add to literature another case of this rare condition. Recognition will almost invariably point to carotid artery occlusion and timely treatment may not only abolish the attacks in patients but also reduce their risk of stroke.

He has also ordered another sleep deprived EEG, to look for Seizure activity. Sleep deprived is BAD ENOUGH but it is also CAFFEINE DEPRIVED. I may just have seizures from that alone. However I had this test in 2013 under his orders, and my brain didn't show any seizures. AND I also had an overnight sleep study to conduct an EEG then, as well. No problems occurred. This was because I fell out of bed while dreaming a bunch of times.

Honestly, IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Stay tuned and i'll keep you posted.

Hugs, Elaine
