Default Is this Dystonia?

The video link below is a set of symptoms I have every day.
I have had MRI and MRA scans that are negative. But I have now been Paralysed twice 3-4 hours each time. The second bout of Paralysis left me with residual damage in my speech and thought process.

I would be most grateful if anyone has seen anything like it before and what Diagnosis could be.

Hi Linsky,

Yes, it looks like dystonia to me. If you haven't seen a movement disorder specialist yet you definitely should. Often a regular neurologist is just not able to dignose dystonia. The psychiatric misdiagnosis is the most common misdiagnosis of dystonia. Your symptoms look similar to mine when I have a dystonic attack or storm, only I arch backward instead of forward. I have seen others with dystonia who also have the arching forward like you. How long have you had these symptoms?

From a patient perspective it certainly looks like dystonia to me. Definitely get evaluated by a movement disorder specialist. There are treatment options that can help you.

Do a search for dystonia. The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation is a great resource as is Care 4 Dystonia. Please let me know if you ahve any questions or if there is anything else I can do to help. I have had generalized dystonia for 12 years and I can definitely relate to what you are going through. Hang in there and know that you are not alone.

-Jen
