I think they may not be thinking possible MS anymore...
MRI EXAM : MRI LUMBAR - WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST 1.5 cm left renal cortical nonenhancing lesion within the upper pole is incompletely imaged but probably represents cyst. If clinically indicated, further evaluation with sonography may be performed. MRI EXAM : MRI THORACIC - WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST 1.5 cm left renal cortical cystic lesion posteriorly is completely intracortical and contains a small amount of hemorrhage. Lesion probably represents a hemorrhagic cyst but is incompletely imaged and cystic neoplasm cannot be excluded.Further evaluation with sonography recommended. More tests to come I am sure...if this is from cystic neoplasm...Nope, can't even wrap my brain around that. ![]() Blessings to you all, Gaia |

Gaia, there is not any "MS protocol information" on that report. It was all about your left kidney (renal). You have a cyst/growth on the top upper pole. Each kidney has an upper and a lower pole (normal shape of kidney).
You need a sonogram of the kidneys it suggests. He wasn't looking for anything else unless there was more written on the interpretation part on the bottom of the MRI report. ![]()

Thanks Michelle
![]() Lady, the MRI was clean other than the cyst that was found on the kidney. No lesions, nothing to explain the numbness and tingling in my legs. The numbness and pain have been getting worse over the last few weeks and I was sure they would find a pinched nerve...but nothing. ![]() Gaia |

Did you have a brain MRI, LP or VEP tests? Any of these? It takes time for things to show up. I am glad your spine is clear.
I had a lumbar cyst that caused problems of extreme pain, numbness and tingling. Compressing the sciatic nerve and disk fragments from a herniation with splinters. This showed up with a Myelogram with dye and followed with a CT while the dye was still in there. I have a EMG too. I needed surgery and was fine. Just relax and hopefully the cyst in nothing, normal if not interfering with kidney function. I have a scar from a cyst on my lower left kidney pole. They scanned it with ultra sound, renal scan, other tests too. They can do other tests but they are more invasive. I hope yours turns out okay. Good luck.
