Default OT my cat

These are just thoughts about my cat while I'm in my sleeping pill state of mind. My daughter got her for me for this past mothers day. I picked her out at the Humane Society. I really liked another cat better because of the markings but I knew my husband said that if I got a cat that "it's your cat". And this cat responded to him, where I would have had to work the other kitten to come out from under the bed.

Well, this adorable little cat has chosen my husband to be her human!!!!!!!! And he loves every minute of it. We had Christmas at our house and I had to lock her in the bedroom because she would growl at anyone, including my 5 year old granddaughter!

She won't even get on my lap unless I have an afghan over me. Right now my husband is downstairs channel surfing on his new 51 inch TV but the cat is here with me like she always is. But she won't get on my lap. She just sits in a chair beside me. She loves to groom me so I know she loves me but I just wish she would sit on my lap. OK, that's enough sappy story for tonight.

Default scratch behind ears???

Will she allow you to rub her behind her ears...and does she love it? Perhaps if you would coax her to let you do that on your lap...and then only allow it there, she will warm up to your lap. It's a thought!!!

Oh yes, she allows me to do all the loving I want. I even bought some kitty treats to try to lure her on my lap. She just came and got them and then left!!!!!!!!!

In the evenings when my hubby is channel surfing, she usually prefers to be in here with me, but beside me in a little chair. She's so cute. The chair came with a tent set I bought for my granddaughter and has 'adorable' written on the back. The cats name is Adora, short for adorable.

Oh, she rarely and I mean rarely purrs. The last time I remember her purring was when we got home from being away for two days.

My daughter found a little cat in the undercarriage of her car. She rescued it, cleaned it up and fed her. She thought it was a kitten because it was so small but the vet thinks it is about 8 months old, just little. It must be used to living with a dog because she kind of bosses the dog around. Her and the dog sleep together and play all day long. That takes my daughters pets to 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 bird and 2 snakes. I don't know how she is going to react when she bring the rats in to feed the snakes.

Doydie, don't take it personally - not all cats are lap cats and further some cats seem to have an instinctual preference for men over women. If she comes up and keeps you company then you have your answer
