I have good days and bads days, and like some of you it depends on the weather. I'm way worse in the cold though. It's only chilly in here and I'm lame.

I do a little yoga when I have time (when life is not crazy, I do it daily). Walking and swimming when it's warm. On really bad days (weeks, months, lol) I find it's best not to fight it. Sometimes a body needs to rest. Hot tea and a treat makes me feel better then. If one trip up the stairs is too much, I don't try again later.

I know I've over done it when I can't open a water or worse, takes two tries to spin a door knob.

That was one of my first symptoms, though I didn't know it at the time. I can barely lift a gallon of milk to pour a glass (takes two hands!). Even a large glass can present a problem on a really bad day. Like most of you, I just don't think about it much. The problem is I haven't found the funny in it yet. My family will tease me and I can't laugh with them.

Sure get tired of the "what's with the cane" and "but you look so good" comments! Gotta love those ignorant people and their "magic" bracelets, beans, diets, etc.

That's one of the reasons I like to talk about my MS on stage, I want to try to educate people about how MS effects us all differently and in different ways on different days.

I lost the strength in my arms about six years ago, and the strength in my legs about four years ago.

I wear 1.5 lb wrist weights a couple times a day to try to help control my tremors, and these seem to have helped a little with my arm strength.

I wear 2.5 lb ankle weights, also for the tremors to help steady my walking. I haven't noticed any strength coming back since I started using them, and they do wear me out so that I can't wear them for long periods of time.

It seems that the higher I try to lift my arms, the less strength I have. Also, putting my arms straight out in front of me or out to the sides makes them a lot weaker. I still try to lift hand weights (3 lb) once or twice a week. I try to ride my exercycle once a week, plus I do stretching exercises to try to relieve my leg spasms.

I think some of this is helping, but I can't help but feel like a big mess.

I despise this disease and what it has taken away from me and everyone else!! :grouphug:
