Hi Sally,

I suspect that my Mom may have had mild MS for many years, but it was never diagnosed. She had to take B12 injections for years. I get blood tests all the time and I've never been told I was deficient.

It might have been interesting had you added Vitamin D deficiency as a third option to this one Sal.

My Vit B12 is always normal, even though I've had a hemicolectomy, which normally interferes with the absorption of Vit B12.

As an aside, I've been Vit D deficient for as far back as I can remember.

I don't know my "numbers" for either B12 or D but I do take 4,000 IU's of Vit D a day. When I remember to I take a B12 supplement.

I do not know if I have a B12 deficiency. I believe it was tested at one point. I am going to ask my pcp to test for it during my next round of blood work for cholesterol. I do have a Vit D deficiency and take 1000 iu's a day. It seems to be working.

I didn't add vit D to this poll because, it was intimated that most people with MS have a vit B12 deficiency and I doubted that. No one I personally know wth MS has a vit B12 problem.

Many with MS have a Vit D deficiency...I don't, but a lot do. That may be the next poll..
