Default dermatitis with flare up of sx

Just for the record before I start, I haven't been dx'd with anything!

I've noticed that my sx flare up every 3-4 weeks now lasting for about 7-10days.
I'm just starting one now - it's come on gradually since saturday.
The last 3 flare ups now my dermatitis gets much worse. It's between my pinky and ring fingers, and it's worse on my left hand (knuckles too) which is my more effected side of my body (arm and leg heaviness, etc).
I use cortisone cream which works, but then I stop using it when it's better then with a flare it comes back again. (I don't like using it too much).

A thread about this came up in my search, but I wanted to ask do any of you have this problem when beginning a flare?
Thanks.

I have this problem on my left hand.....right below my thumb. The only thing I've found that helps is Aquaphor. It's an OTC ointment and can be found at most any drug store.

It's pretty much always there, though. I don't have to be in a flare for it to crop up.

Do you use an OTC or an rx to treat? The Aquaphor helps mine but doesn't clear it up.

I've tried lots of stuff and now, I keep it under control with a vasaline/lotion concoction..
