Default What sx does LDN help?

I'm thinking of talking to the doc about LDN. What sx does it give relief from?

My big things are pain, fatigue, not have brains.

Brain, it helps some people with many things and many with some things and the majority's symptoms lessen and a we have a feeling of well being.

It helps my fatigue but others have said not. It helps to regulate my urinary and bowel problems. It makes me less dizzy and stronger in movement.

I wish you much luck, in trying LDN.

These are the areas I have found have improved since I started LDN:

My balance is much better. Now when I walk I only stagger like I had a couple of drinks. Before you’d swear I drank the better part of a keg. As a result, I don’t use my walker unless I am really going to do a lot of walking. Also I find that I can now close my eyes when I’m rinsing my hair in the shower.

My hands don’t tremor as much. In fact they don’t tremor at all most of the time, whereas before LDN I had a constant tremor. I only realized this when I noticed that I had my old handwriting back.

Physical movement is easier and smoother. It almost feels like somebody oiled my joints.

My general pain level is much improved.

I haven't had a bladder problem at all since starting LDN.

I have very few days that I feel “knocked out” with fatigue. Before LDN I felt exhausted nearly all the time.

Needless to say, I am a very happy LDN camper.

I have the same good results as Marion. My balance is better and I can actually shower without feeling like I'm going to fall any second. I noticed, too, that I can close my eyes while rinsing my hair and not get dizzy.

The change of seasons always knocks me for a loop but this year it hasn't been as bad as years prior. I still get fatigued by extreme temps (either hot or cold) but it's at a level I can deal with.

LDN has been a wonderful thing for me. No shots, no side effects (except feeling well!), more energy and the cost is less than $15 a month. It just doesn't get any better than this!

As for the “no brains” part, I know exactly what you mean. Before LDN there were quite a few times that I didn’t trust myself to drive or have much contact with business people. Sometimes I’d realize that I was having a bad day after I left home, and I’d basically just cancel my plans for the day and go home – slowly and carefully. That sort of situation is both alarming and debilitating. I have not “turned tail” and gone home since LDN. I didn’t actually realize it until you wrote about the “no brains” part.

I would encourage you and anybody else with an interest to try LDN. It is a hassle getting squared away with a willing doctor and the special pharmacy, but it is infinitely doable. After all it is inexpensive, and low risk. The worst that can happen is that it doesn’t do much for you. The best that can happen is that you see improvements like I did.

I almost think that it is easier to go with one of the “phone consult” doctors that you can read about on the net. That way you just do it, not beg for it. It’s just much less demeaning that way. I know it made me feel like it was my decision, and nobody else’s.

I started taking LDN in June and am very happy with the results. My MS is pretty mild and I wanted to keep it that way without using a DMD. My worst symptoms were heat intolerance (I dreaded summer) and fatigue if I overdid it - not fatique on a daily basis. I couldn't believe how well I did this past summer - it was literally life changing. I've been crazy busy this month and although I'm tired at the end of the day, I'm not a wreck who needs a couple of down days to recover.

Thanks for all your replies!

I did read the ldn threads, but it was hard to get right to the point of it. This was just the info I needed.

It sounds like they want people on the more expensive crabs, and use the excuse *they've been tested for use with ms, LDN has not*. So they don't rx LDN?

Since I'm in limbo, and they are not gonna rx crabs, but seem happy enough to give me all kinds of off label stuff maybe they will rx this stuff for me. Can't hurt to ask. But nice to know, if they say no, I have other options.

I'll let you know. I've tried everything else. I'd be remiss not to give it a whirl.

I know. It's draining. What can we do but keep trying though? We can NOT give up. Some times I think if I was only going through all of this for myself I could curl into a ball...

But I have to get up and let the dogs out to pee, feed the birds, do stuff for my kids.

I'll let you know what happens.
