I just spoke to my MS neuro and I'll be starting Copaxone again as soon as the insurance approval comes through and they send it out to me.
I did ok on it and I can take it until Cladribine is approved. It wouldn't make sense to start Tysabri again for a short time then have to take a drug holiday before starting Cladribine. I call tomorrow to get the shipments of Copaxone set up and ok'd with my insurance. So, no more Tysabri for me and I think this is a good plan. BTW, he thinks Cladribine will still be approved in 2010 but maybe not as soon as he had hoped.

I read that report about the oral drug being delayed...
Hope that the C helps you, sweetie...

Thanks Debbie! I don't look forward to the daily bee-sting feeling but I'll be glad to be taking something to fight this dang disease. At least it isn't tank top and shorts weather so I won't have to look at the welts all that often.

Wiz,
Just be careful of the darkening of the skin...my thighs are a grayish tint now. Dr. W told me to set the Autoject to an eight so it really goes subcutaneous (the Copaxone nurse had told me to use a 4). I have less welting and bleeding. He also told me if I don't want to do it in the arms, then don't. Also, instead of doing it in the front of the thigh, he told me to inject in the outside of the thigh that has more of a fat pad. And the abdomen can take more injections as well. Don't forget to take a cotton ball and press into the injection site for one minute after injecting. Seems to reduce the welts as well... Good luck, dear...let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the tips Debbie. I should have it by tomorrow so I'll start my injections tomorrow night. I'm getting antsy not being on anything.
